| The traditional voice system is evolving to the next generation network(NGN) which is a open architecture integrated with multimedia services. The softswitch, which acts as the core of the NGN, provides realtime processing of call control and connection for NGN. The intelligence network(IN) seperates the control function from the switch function and it could generate the new service rapidly,expediently,agilely,economically and effectively. To satisfy the increasing requirements of telecommunication, we could develop the new service with the facility of IN. And now the IN is running to united IN(UIN).From the presentation and application of IN, the paper introduces the IN conception model and its architecture and technology. And then the paper investigates the softswitch and analyzes its function, its structure and its position in the NGN architecture.Comparing the architecture of NGN and IN, we could find out that the softswitch and the service switch point(SSP) are in the similar position. So the paper suggests the softswitch should supply the service switch function. That is, the softswitch should be rebuilt to a simulant S SP and communicate with the integrated SCP through INAP/SIP. Thus UIN will cooperate with NGN. Also it will be able to provide UIN services for the PSTN,GSM, CDMA and IP customers through the powerful access capability of softswitch.Combining the project of developing IN service in the softswitch, the author gives the idea of introducing the SSF/CCF model into the structure of softswitch. The paper presents the functional division, the structure design, the finite state machine and the implemental flows.Finally the restructured softswitch is put into the actual testing environment. The result of the test proves that the softswitch can support the IN service well. It also verifies the thought presented in the paper is proper and feasible. |
