As a result of the combination of computer technology and instrument technology, Virtual Instrument technology has broken through old concept of instrument and will become mainstream of instrumentation. Virtual testing system applicable in the filed of impact energy based on VI is developed. Impact energy testing and control system of drop hammer material testing machine has been researched as instances. In this thesis, the hardware of the system is analyzed the special sensors are designed, and popular and low-cost PC-DAQ structure is chosen.This thesis focuses on the research of system analysis of drop hammer material testing machine, the special sensor and software implementation. A kind of software synthesis method applicable for LabVIEW is introduced. Using the designed software, the testing and applicable system can be synthesized.This paper proposes a kind of effective testing method for testing the impact energy of the drop hammer, and gives the implementary project and process. The experiment result proves that, the virtual test system for the impact energy of the drop hammer is advanced and feasible, which hasmultiple functions and good effect.
