The development of Capital City Geological Information Management and Service System is a national land resources survey program of which is demanded by Chinese Bureau. The fifth subtopic of the "Beijing Municipal Multi-parameter Geological Investigate" program (Program Code: 1210000012102), it is based on GIS research, use the technology of 3D Visualization of Geologic Volume, By using COMGIS as a controller in the application program developed by the user, a seamless integration of application program and geographic information system is achieved. Capital City Geological Information Management and service System is established, and a structural integration of Geographical Information System and City geology is realized.1. Design of Capital City Geological Information Management and Service System1.1 Principal of System DesignCapital City Geological Information Management and Service System should be open to government, management department and planning department, and serve for manager, policy-maker and professional in this field. It should focus on the problems, which should be solved urgently; it could scientifically and manage the geological data. established 3D Visualization Model of Beijing, Supply management department with comprehensive information used for assisting making decision. The development of the system should be in accordance with four principles as follows: Strong practical: All the functions in the system should meet the realistic desire, all kinds of operations should be simple and easy, it can adapt to all levels of clients and easily promote. Friendly Interface: Customer interface is the media of communication between the customer and the computer; it is also the running part of the system, which can be directly perceived by customer in the application program. The system interface should be friendly; all kinds of functions and operations should be simply and easy with high extent of visualization. All the parameters' input and the data maintenance can be realized by the way of the interactive between human being and computer. Modularized Design: Adopt the method of combing structuring and archetype, which is used in the soft engineering development. Because software and hardware products are updated constantly, at the same time, the customer's business is not fixed, the requirement on system probably will change constantly; the system should have good extensiveness.System's Security and Reliability: include the stability and confidentiality 1.2 Design of System's functionAccording to practical work requirements, the system is divided into three sections: Database Management System, Application Service Platform and Professional Application System. The main functions of Database Management System include: data base management, table management, data input and output, search, statistics and analysis, set up of security mechanism etc. Professional functions mainly include: data. Offer different ways of space search on geological information, of obtaining basic geographical information and comprehensive information on geology, geophysical prospecting, artesian well, basic terrain, environment, groundwater resource and development of the search area. In the meanwhile, take an analysis and give an interpret on these information and offer scientific suggestions on decision-making for management department. Application Service Platform System mainly supplies work operation platform, the data's collecting, treatment, analysis until output is done by background, it specifically manifested by the functions of three sub-systems: The main functions of 2D Space Information Management subsystem is data's collecting, edit geological drawings, treatment of geological data, management of drawings, geological symbols and Great Capacity Space Data, space analysis and specialist application, the design of interface of output of geological drawings and ordinary functions.
