| With the development of computer, auto controlling and network communication technologies, people's living have changed much recently, their begin to refer to the safe, convenience, comfort and efficiency of living environment. The increase of the household appliances bring inconvenience to people, How to connect them together and control convenietly represent an attractive market for smart home system. Applying auto controlling and network communication technologies, communication devices, household electrical appliances and safeguard equipments are connected together by home information network, forming an effective organic system---smart home system. The function of this system includes local and remote monitor, control and domestic transaction management.As the door and the governor, the home automation gateway is important, which is the core of the smart home system, It is developed based on wireless technology and embedded system.This paper expatiates on the construction of home net based on wireless technology and the architecture , the function and the realization of the embedded home gateway which is the core of smart home system.The thesis is composed of four chapters, which can be introduced as following: The first chapter, preface, introduces mainly the phylogeny and actuality of the smart home system and the home gateway.The second chapter, wireless technology and embedded system, introduces the two primary technologies: wireless technology and embedded system, which is important to develop smart home system, expatiates on their concept and application. The third chapter, the model of smart home system, introduces the function and construction of smart home system, includes the design of wireless module and automatic terminal.The fourth chapter, the core of smart home system—home automation gateway, introduce the hard construction and soft design of the gateway, which is the core of the home information network, expatiates on the function realization.
