| With the development of various applications on Internet, such as online-office and E-commerce, the security becomes the key of Internet for further developing. The VPN base on cryptography is an efficient way to solve the problem of transmitting safely on public network.IPv6 is the standard of next generation Internet, IPsec will be implemented by force under IPv6 as the security standard of the Internet. IPsec offers security services including data integrity, data origin authentication, protection against replay attacking, etc. So, IPsec is very suitable for VPN. This paper tries to study how to build the efficient, safe and stable VPN base on IPsec.In this paper, basic concept and knowledge are introduced firstly. And next, the detail of IPv6 protocol is explained. (includeheader of IPv6, structure of address, Neighbor Discovery protocol). IPsec protocol(include structure of IPsec, header of IPsec, mode of IPsec and IKE). Study about IPsec VPN under IPv6 is done for detail, and model is given .The research on important source code of VPN is done thirdly. Finally, real experiment under Linux and Windows OS are designed. Process of experiment is explained. Some qualitative and quantitative conclusion is drawn from the result of the experiment.
