| Short Message Service (SMS) has recently aroused great interest from our society. As the information source for SMS, service providers play an important role in the value chain of the value-added SMS. Therefore the success and the future development of SMS largely depend on how well service providers operate. Based on the analysis of the current status and the actual need for those service providers which provide the value-added service, this paper introduces methodologies used to design and implement the integrated operational platform for value-added SMS.The paper begins with a market survey of the value-added SMS, followed by an introduction on the principle of those protocols used by SMS. The type and solution of value-added SMS based on Web are discussed. And the integrated operational platform for value-added SMS is designed and implemented, which includes two kinds of services. The traditional services platform which provides messages, picture and ring download service is set up by three parts: establishing web server, the design of database and user's interface. And based on it, the long-range real-time picture browsing service is developed. The services platform involves some questions such as setting up videos server and customer server, network communication, etc.Our system platform has several advantages over others platform. It is more efficient and cost saving because an integrated operational platform can provide multiple services. And the platform is easy to manage multiple services within one system by using the management function provided by our integrated operational service platform. It is user adaptive in that services can vary according to the specific need of users. The platform has strong expansibility which is the key to business success in a rapidly changing market, it bringsfavorable economic benefit for enterprises. |
