This dissertation includes three parts.Part one Summary of the related literaturesStudies on chemical constituents, pharmacological activities, structural characteristics and spectral characteristics of monoterpene glycosides and the advances in the Studies of monoterpenes from Mentha L. in recent years were reviewed.Part two Studies on the chemical constituents of Mentha haplocalyx Briq.Several separation and purification methods and determination technology (such as 1H-NMR,13C-NMR) were used to study the chemical constituents of Mentha hap localyx Briq. Twenty five compounds were isolated, and seventeen identified includin g:Two terpene composition named p-menth-3-ene-la,2a,8-triol, (3S,5R,6R,7E,9S)-meg astigman-7-ene-3,5,6,9-tetrol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside;Four phenylpropanoids componen ts named 1-hydroxypinoresinol, Clemastanin A,3,4-dihydroxy-allylbenzene-3-O-β-D-gI ucopyranoside,(+)-1-hydroxypinoresinol-l-O-β-D-glucoside; Two flavonoids named Aca cetin and Chrysin; Five phenolic components named Phloretic Acid, Rosmarinic Acid, Lithospermic Acid, Danshensu, Benzoic Acid; Four other types of ingredients name d 2-deoxy-D-ribono-1,4-lactone, Oleic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Dodecenoic Acid.Among them,1-hydroxypinoresinol, Clemastanin A, Phloretic acid,2-deoxy-D-rib ono-1,4-lactone were firstly isolated from Mentha haplocalyx Briq.,(+)-1-hydroxypinor esinol-1-O-β-D-glucoside were firstly isolated from Mentha Linn,p-menth-3-ene-1α,2a, 8-triol was firstly isolated from Labiate.Part three Studies on the differences of chemical constituents between leaves and stems of Mentha haplocalyx Briq. Section one Content DeterminationBy using the determination method of four flavonoids and one phenolic glycoside established by Studies in quality control and evaluation method of Menthae haplocalycis Herba based on the correlation between its chromatographic fingerprint and antioxidant activity, four flavonoids and one phenolic glycoside in 96 batches of Mentha haplocalyx Briq stems and leaves were measured separately, which were picked by different harvest years (2013-2014), different harvest time (growth by half harvest) and different origin (Nanjing, Anhui, Beijing). By using the method of chemical metrology, the correlation between four kinds of flavonoid glycosides and Rosemary Acid between different parts (stems and leaves) and content differences, differences in dynamic changes of four flavonoids glycosides and Rosemary Acid of Mentha haplocalyx Briq stems and leaves were compared.Results:(1) Didymin and different parts of Mentha haplocalyx Briq, leaves content are not significantly correlated, Hesperidin, Diosmin, Buddleoside, Rosemary Acid and Mentha haplocalyx Briq in different parts, leaves content leaves exists at least a significant correlation. (2) Average content of Diosmin, Buddleoside, Rosemary Acid in Mentha haplocalyx Briq leaves was higher than the stems. Mentha haplocalyx Briq, the average content of Didymin in Mentha haplocalyx Briq leaver was lower than stems, the law of Hesperidin content in Mentha haplocalyx Briq stems and leaves due to different origins. (3) Fluctuations of Hesperidin, Diosmin, Didymin content in different harvest mint leaves was larger than that in mint stems. Fluctuation of Rosemary Acid content in different harvest mint leaves was smaller than that in mint stems. Fluctuation of Buddleoside content due to different origins showed different rules. The proportions of Hesperidin and Didymin in total flavonoid content of 4 species in leaves were larger than that in stems. The proportions of Diosmin and Buddleoside in total flavonoid content of 4 species due to different origins showed different rules.Section two FingerprintsThe Mentha haplocalyx Briq fingerprints of our previous method established before were further optimized. Stems fingerprint and leaves fingerprints of Mentha haplocalyx Briq were determined using’chromatographic fingerprint similarity evaluation system’ 2004A edition. Using cluster analysis, factor analysis revealed differences between stems and leaves fingerprints. Overlapping peaks between the fingerprints were evaluated. Based on HPLC-MS/MS identification result of the chemical composition of Mentha haplocalyx Briq of our research group, possible structures and the type of chemical of different peaks in stems fingerprints and leaves fingerprints were discussed.Results:(1) Mentha haplocalyx Briq stems fingerprinting consisting of 20 common peaks and leaves fingerprints consisting of 20 common peaks were identified, with only 11 peaks overlapped. (2) Cluster analysis showed that the mint stems HPLC fingerprints significantly different from the mint leaves HPLC fingerprints. (3) Factor analysis showed that the same 11 peaks in HPLC fingerprints of the mint stems and leaves can be divided into three categories. There were five peaks in the first class giving the largest contribution. The second and third class contained 4 and 2 chromatographic peaks respectively, of the descending contribution; Factor scores in first class of all mint stems samples were higher than that of mint leaves. It showed that the most influential five integrated overall assessment of mint stems outperformed the leaves...
