Background—Vascular dementia (VD) is caused by cerebrovascular disease acquired cognitive dysfunction or recession clinical syndrome. The inflammatory reaction of cerebral ischemia secondaryto the aggravation of nerve damage ocess. Cytokines are involved in the process of cellular damage. Under the stimulation of inflammatory factors, mitochondria have a significant change, the reduction of mitochondrial production capacity, changes the normal function of the cell. In vivo or intracellular free radicals and malondialdehyde (MDA) and other harmful chemical groups increased rapidly, resulting in mitochondrial dysfunction, increased cytotoxicity, promote neuronal lipid, protein and DNA oxidative damage and inflammation. So it is believed that the inflammatory reaction and the mitochondrial injury are the two important mechanisms of VD after stroke. Objectives—The traditional Chinese medicine has many historical records on the description of vascular dementia. Study on the distribution regularity of TCM Syndromes of kidney essence deficiency, phlegm syndrome represents the deficiency and empirical VD syndrome type in. Inflammatory factors and mitochondrial related factors in the pathogenesis of VD has an important role, empirical and deficiency from the symptom is easy to distinguish, but with the related factors of inflammatory factors and mitochondrial associated and both in empirical and deficiency in the role has not been reported. This study aims to study on the relationship of Index and syndrome type. Methods—According to the inclusion criteria to collect 60 vascular dementia patients which belongs to idney essence deficiency and phlegm blocking orific, and each group of 30 cases。Peripheral venous blood from patients and then detect the factors. Using statistical methods analysis the relationship between index, scale score and TCM syndrome score.Result—The level of IL-6、IL-18、TNF-A、MDA in the two groups all have a positive correlation with the score of MMSE、Barthel, a negative relation with the level of BBS(P<0.01 or P<0.05).The level of SOD in the two groups all have a negative relation with the score of MMSE、Barthel, a negative relation with the level of BBS. The score of the two syndrome types all have a negative correlation with the score of MMSE、BBS, a positive correlation with the score of BBS.The contributions of interleukin-18 (IL-18) of two groups of traditional Chinese Medical Syndrome integral is the highest, phlegm blocking orifices groups in vivo levels of IL-18, SOD activity were compared with kidney essence deficit virtual group. Phlegm in patients with BBS score of kidney essence deficiency group, low Barthel index than the kidney deficiency group. The phlegm group behavior and the daily life ability deficiency may be affected by low IL-18 levelsConclusion:1.Inflammatory reaction and mitochondrial injury may be involved in the pathogenesis of VD.2.The higher the level of inflammatory response in patients with vascular dementia and the severer of mitochondrial. damage, the higher the score of TCM Syndromes of the two groups of VD.3.The higher the level of inflammation in the body and the more severe of mitochondrial damage, the more serious the two groups of syndrome VD patients with dementia4. The patients with VDbelongs to deficiency syndromein behavior and daily life ability decline more obvious. And may it affected by the level of IL-18.5.IL-18 may have the highest contribution to the two groups and VD patients belong to TCM Excessive Syndrome may have a higher level of IL-18.6.Patients of VD belongs to deficiency syndrome have lower leve of SOD.7. We can make IL-18 as the main anti-inflammatory indicators in reaserhing Traditional Chinese Medicine.
