Professor LONG Xu - Hao 's Clinical Experience In Treating Pediatric Cough Variant Asthma (Yin Deficiency Type)

Cough variant asthma(CVA),which is also called occult asthma,is a common pediatric clinical disease.Cough is the only or main clinical manifestations,and its important characteristics are repeated,irritating cough and night or morning cough.Some factors like allergen exposure,catching cold,cold air,strenuous exercise can result in or aggravate coughing.some children have family or individual allergic history.It is considered as premonitory symptom of typical asthma,and some patients may develop into typical asthma without timely and effective treatment.At present,there is no unified standard for the etiology and pathogenesis and syndrome differentiation of TCM. My teacher thinks the Yin Deficiency and Lung Heat type is the most common type by inheriting Professor Yao Jingying’s clinical experience,combined with her clinical practice.The main lesion is lung,associated with spleen and kidney.The pathological factors are wind,phlegm,stasis.The internal factor is the accumulation of lung-heat consumes yin,the external factor is feeling the pathogenic factors such as wind,cold and dryness,allergen exposure,strenuous exercise and so on,these factors work together and cause cough.According to the pathogenic characters,combined with the physiological and pathological and physical characteristics,my teacher treats the children with cough variant asthma clinically by using ZhichuanⅠ,and the clinical result is encouraging.
