| Chronic Heart Failure(CHF) is a common clinical syndrome, which can be caused by the changes of the structure and function of heart, can cause ventricular filling and(or) ejection ability damage, which is the end of all kinds of heart diseases. With the trend of population aging all over the world, the incidence rate of chronic heart failure increasingly goes up, and it is becoming one of the most crucial cardiovascular diseases in the 21 st century. The patients with chronic heart failure often have troubles in daily life and they do not have a good quality of life due to cardiac insufficiency, and therefore this problem has attracted more attention. The traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes the concept of holism as well as syndrome differentiation and treatment, and for the treatment of chronic heart failure, it lays stress on adjusting the functions of internal organs as well as the balance and coordination among them based on the whole system of human body, thus it has its own unique advantage. This study proposed a novel notion named “Heart-Brain-Kidney Axis†of the therapy of cardiac failure by summarizing the experience of diagnosis and treatment of professor Yan Zhang. We depicted the theory of “Heart-Brain-Kidney Axis†from 3 aspects including “interconnection of blood and vessels, mutual contact of essence and spirit, meridian correlation†by searching and analyzing the classical literature. Furthermore, we also proposed the therapeutic principle of “harmonizing heart, brain and kidney simultaneouslyâ€, which based on invigorating heat, warming kidney and calming the nerves. For clinical application, we adjusted the traditional Chinese medicine by “harmonizing heart, brain and kidney simultaneously†according to the condition of patients. In brief, the theory of “harmonizing heart, brain and kidney simultaneously†would be a novel strategy of the therapy of cardiac failure. |
