The sad of the moon, a piece of Erhu music, was composed by Professor.HuZhiping, who worked in the Traditional Instruments Department in Wuhanconservatory of music in March3,1990, which was based on the inspiration from apoem of the same name written by esthetician Zong Baihua. This piece of music workdeeply expresses the composer’s association of beauty and inner touches stemmingfrom the image of moon through the presentation of the beautiful moon and theemotional connotation. Being spread over more than twenty years, the sad song of themoon has been a well-known work among both insiders and traditional instrumentamateurs due to a unique and charming style from connotation and innovation since1990s.The paper discusses the creation background and the form of tone as well asthe analysis of creative techniques to reflect the connotative meaning and theaesthetic taste. In additional, with the deeper research and analysis to the creationinnovative thinking and the recreation in performance and the reflection in the pursuitof aesthetic appreciation, the paper attempts to explore intensively to bring up someproblems in aspects of the performing art and aesthetics music and so on.
