As everyone knows, American Russian composer Richmaninoff’s PianoConcerto in D minor, Op.30is famous for its difficult and demanding techniques. Thetechniques require performers to handle how to produce beautiful tone color with acombined passionate motion, espacially its great length and varied techniques is achallenge for many performers.The thesis starts with Rachmaninoff’s life and creation background. The analysisfor this piano concerto mainly focouses on its varied and complecated techniques.Also, some corresponding resolutions are also provided in this thesis. This concertocovers almost the entire piano playing techniques, without which, a performer can’treveals the full emotion as the composer discribed. So, the author will go though allthe critical points within this piece, analyzing each different techneque, to make aguide for a better performing on this master work.
