Study On Chenliu County In Han Dynasty

During the Han period, subinfeudations and counties coexisted, as the highest local administrative divisional county; it was the Han local administrative office of supreme power, which was closely related to Han dynasty’s rise and fall, governance and chaos. This paper is based on the research of Chenliu county of Han dynasty, in order to discover the historical materials, try to reduct the historical appearance of Chenliu County as much as possible from the aspects such as politics, economy, and culture, and then reveal its brilliant history and culture. The body of this paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter illustrates the historical evolution of Chenliu County’s administrative divisions from two sections. In the first section, some basic situations, such as the Chenliu County’s historical geographic evolution, and changes of administrative divisions are concluded, even the specific geographic scope of Chenliu County is defined. In the second section, from the being an officer in Chenliu County, and the county officials, to explore the relationship between management of local government, personnel appointment of officials and center, and also the contributions they have made.The second chapter explores the socio-economic situation of Chenliu County in Han dynasty from three sections. The first section explores the development of tillage agriculture from the land area and residence status of Chenliu County, the agricultural technology, and the farming system. The second section further illustrates the economic development course of Chenliu County from the development situation of handicrafts and commercial in Chenliu County. The third section makes the statistics of the natural disasters that affects Chenliu County, explores the impact of the natural disasters on its development as well as the disaster relief measures of both the central and local government.The third chapter explores the ideological and cultural development of Chenliu County from two sections. The first section explains the education development of Chenliu County from the order from the central political and the teacher-student relationship among scholars. The second section discusses the impact of the learned scholar involved Chenliu County on political and academic. And to explore the contribution to the ideological and cultural development of the scholars in Chenliu County as well as the ideological and cultural position in central plains region.
