On The Code - Switching In The Love Comic "

As a special language phenomenon, code-switching has been getting much attention by linguists. The study of code-switching has gained rapid development and remarkable research achievements since the early1900s.Foreign linguists discussed about code-switching in detail from social linguistics,lexicology,psycholinguistics,and syntacticanalysis. But the study about code-switching in China starts very late, and is to introduce the research results without systematic theoretical system.To the fact that the studied cases are about written language materials from newspapers, magazines and books, this essay is to explore the code-switching phenomenon on oral languages. A large number of examples of code-switching in the sitcom "Love Apartments" provide language materials for this essay. It has important research value as the language materials are closed to our daily reality.Based on all the language materials collected from the first three episodes of the sitcom "Love Apartments", the essay analyzes the features, humorous, effect and motivation of code-switching with quantitative research methods and qualitative analysis on the language materials from the sitcom "Love Apartment". Research results are as follows:In the sitcom "Love Apartments", the main code-switching ways are code-switching between English and Chinese, code-switching between Japanese and Chinese, and code-switching between Mandarin and dialects. The code-switching between Chinese and English takes over most parts among them and includes code-switching within a sentence and code-switching inter sentences which appear mainly in the form of letters, words and phrases. The sitcom has the features of highlighted concise fashion, humor and fun, life straightaway, and contains philosophical thought-provoking through analysis. Finally, drawing on the language adaptation theory of Guodong yu, study the language of motivation from reality, social conventions, psychological motivations three aspects. Language motivation includes filling gaps, mention foreign products or concepts, seeking convenience; social motivation includes avoiding social taboo, out of politeness; psychological motivation includes psychology for fashion, stressed that changing the communication of both emotional distance, identity and integration of different cultures.As the essay only analyzes the code-switching from the language materials of the first three episodes of "Love Apartments", the corpus can be described as just tip of the iceberg and the conclusion does not necessarily universal and applicability. In order to get a deeper understanding of the sitcom code-switching, it is necessary to collect more corpus analyzedIn future studies.
