A Study On The Vocabulary Of Jingshan Dialect In Hubei Province

This paper takes dialect vocabulary in Jingshan, Hubei province as the research object.According to the study of institute of dialect vocabulary, Chinese Academy of Social 《Chinesedialect investigation table entry》, this paper sorts out 《dialect vocabulary table of JingshanHubei province》 based on on-the-spot investigation. With《dialect vocabulary table ofJingshan Hubei province》 as the basis, using the method of comparative study of Mandarin-dialect-ancient Chinese, synchronic comparison and diachronic induction combined, as wellas combining the study of language ontology and culture, this paper analyzs completely《dialect vocabulary table of Jingshan Hubei province》 from Vertical and horizontal to insideand outside. Horizontal comparison includes the comparative study of dialect vocabulary inJingshan, Hubei province and Mandarin vocabulary, mainly from two aspects of form andmeaning, to find the differences, and the full description, analysis and interpretation on thesedifferences, thus reveals the characteristics and personality of vocabulary in dialect in Jingshan,Hubei province. The longitudinal comparison is mainly from the four ways of vocabularychange: inheritance, variation, innovation and borrowing, to historical induction, digging outthe roots and regularity of the development of dialect vocabulary in Jingshan, Hubei province.Finally, takeing the external factors of language—culture as the starting point, this paperanalyzes dialect vocabulary in Jingshan, Hubei province, to discover p the unique Jing Chuculture.This paper consists of seven parts:ChapterⅠ: Introduction,including the research status, object,purpose, method,significance,and speakers of Handan dialect vocabulary study.Chapter Ⅱ:Jingshan Countyand Jingshan dialect,this chapter mainly introduces thegeography, history and demographic profiles of Jingshan County,as well as an overview of itsdialect.Chapter Ⅲ:Vocabulary of Jingshan dialect,this chapter is asummary of Jingshandialectterms,whose collectionis fieldwork-based,supplemented by literature reference.Chapter Ⅳ: A comparison of Jingshan dialect vocabulary and Mandarinvocabulary,mainly from the two aspects of lexical morphology and lexical semantics, of which,morphological comparison includes the comparison of voice number, word formation and wordcoinage, and semantics comparison includes the comparison of basic meaning, grammaticalmeaning and rhetoric significance.Chapter Ⅴ: A diachronic study on Jingshan dialect vocabulary, the diachronic evolution of vocabulary contains lexical inheritance,mutation,innovation,and borrowing.Chapter Ⅵ:This chapter reflects three aspects of inclusiveness, shaman and romanticnature of the Chu culture.Chapter Ⅶ:This chapter makes a summary of the whole paper, proposes limitations andfuture direction.All in all, this paper attempts to make a thorough research on dialect vocabulary inJingshan, which can make a slim contribution for future research and development.
