Objective:The study tried to use the Attentional Network Test (ANT) and Lateralized Distracting Attention Networks Test (LDANT) to investigate cerebral functional lateralization and integration processes of three attentional networks:alerting, orienting and executive control networks. Methods:The experimental material of experiment1and2are the same, including three cue conditions (no cue, center cue and spatial cue) and the followed two flanker task conditions (congruent and incongruent). Cues and tasks with a white background image were presented against a black background. Cue and task images were4.81°×3.61°visual angle in width and height, centered on the monitor. In the distraction condition, cue or task images were accompanied by a white square distractor blinked on and off at50ms intervals for300ms, which0.41°visual angle and was located6.1°angle to either the left or right of the screen center. In experiment1, the ratio of congruent task to incongruent task was50-50. In experiment1, the ratio of congruent task to incongruent task was75-25and25-75.Results:The results of experimental1indicated that, the effect of alerting network in the left hemisphere was significantly larger than the right hemisphere, the right hemisphere was significantly larger than two hemispheres integration processing. The effect of orienting network in the right hemisphere was significantly larger than the left hemisphere and two hemispheres integration processing, the difference between the left hemisphere and two hemispheres integration processing was not significant. The effects of executive control network in the right hemisphere and two hemispheres integration processing were significantly larger than the left hemisphere, the difference between the right hemisphere and two hemispheres integration processing was not significant. The results of experimental2indicated that, the congruent flanker task in both75-25and25-75ratio conditions, the effect of alerting network in the right hemisphere was significantly larger than the left hemisphere. The incongruent flanker task in25-75ratio condition, the effect of alerting network in the left hemisphere was significantly larger than the right hemisphere. In75-25ratio condition, the effect of orienting network in the right hemisphere and two hemispheres integration processing were larger than the left hemisphere, the difference between the right hemisphere and two hemispheres integration processing was not significant. In25-75ratio condition, the effect of orienting network in the right hemisphere was significantly larger than the left hemisphere and two hemispheres integration processing, the difference between the left hemisphere and two hemispheres integration processing was not significant. In75-25ratio condition, the effect of executive control network in the right hemisphere and two hemispheres integration processing were larger than the left hemisphere, the difference between the right hemisphere and two hemispheres integration processing was not significant. In25-75ratio condition, the effect of executive control network in the right hemisphere was significantly larger than the left hemisphere and two hemispheres integration processing, the difference between the left hemisphere and two hemispheres integration processing was not significant.Conclusions:(1) There were two different alerting network, showed different hemispheric superiority. Tonic alertness showed right hemisphere superiority, while phasic alertness showed left hemisphere superiority;(2) Orienting network showed right hemisphere superiority;(3) Executive control network showed right hemisphere superiority. When the task used more cognitive resources, executive control network showed more obvious right hemisphere superiority.
