| Though the study of stylistics has a long history in China, but it hasn’t achieved independence status, has only been a vassal of literature and article science. With the influx of western language theory, until1980s and1990s, our country’s stylistics had been basically mature. Due to the foreignness and newness of the theory, most people have only been in the study of modern and contemporary literature, haven’t make full use of the vast classical literature resources in our country. Shiji and Hanshu as two peaks of the historiography and literary history, have very high value of corpus.Since ancient times, the study of Shiji and Hanshu has not been broken, but most in the exegetical, collation, textual research, comment, etc., has not adopted systematic stylistics theory on the language styles of the books. Therefore, we hope to start with duality, repetition and parallelism, the three figures of speech performing musical beauty, and compare and analyze the texts with the same theme by extracting, sorting relevant data, to clarify Sima Qian’s and Ban Gu’s personal preferences for figures of speech, and even other style means such as characters, vocabularies and sentences, eventually get and verify the language styles of the books. The research reviews the related ancient and modern research both at home and abroad, sort out the comparable contents of Shiji and Hanshu, describes the angle which is figures of speech reflecting music beauty, and then straight into the topic. The first part define the duality, discuss the formation basis and general style of duality. The second chapter discusses the adoption, and the third chapter discusses the change which Hanshu made on Shiji’s duality. The two chapters collect relevant examples in two books exhaustively. With classification and comparison,it draws and verifies the conclusion that Shiji is plain, fluent, novel and grand, while Hanshu is aureate, elegant, succinct and rigour. And then it discusses the influences on language style by changing and adopting duality from macroscopic view. The forth chapter compares repetition and parallelism in two books, aiming to analysis their contribution to the different language styles. And we make a brief overview of other style means.Lastly,by comparing the authors’ different time background, personal experiences, political thoughts, historical perspectives,it explores the different styles of the books. |
