The history of electroacoustic music was categories into four periods according to the "age symbol" theory, late1940s to1960s (Concrete music), mid1950s to late1970s(Tape music),1960s to21st century(Electroacoustic music),1970s up to now(Computer music and Digital new media technology).By analyzing and studying the music background, technology background and the main technologies applied in these pieces of the four composers in different period,Pierre Schaeffer, Karlheinz Stockhausen, John Chowning, and Pierre Boulez, then conclude the main technologies in each period, as mentioned "the age symbol", and study the feasibility by this new concluding way. We could find the inner laws of development of electroacoustic music by studying that how the technologies developed in these pieces and how the new technologies appeared with the birth, success and fading of the technologies, in other words, the age characteristics of electroacoustic music was led by the revolution of technologies. I hope this paper would inspire more people to find a solution of the future of the electroacoustic music positively by concluding the age symbol feasibility in electroacoustic music compositions, meanwhile, I hope it could help us to find a better way to find the development direction of electroacoustic music technologies and inspire the electroacoustic music teaching and composing.
