Emotional comprehension is that children understand the cause and result ofemotion, and use these inside and outside information to respond the suitable socialculture and sub-culture behavior, in order to approach yourself, others and thesurrounding areas and adapt and regulate the personal relationship. Emotionalcomprehension is emotional constructing process to the individual and the others, atthe same time, it is a kind of capability that it is a outside and inside state to behaveemotional rule properly. Emotional comprehension is the main part of the theory ofmind (TOM), in recent years, emotional comprehension is a hot issue that attracts allkinds of researchers to deepen its theory. Especially, the un-intelligence ability hasbeen spanning the whole world, emotional comprehension is and essential part ofun-intelligence elements and also absorb a lot of attention from all over the world.Emotional comprehension affects an individual personality, school success, personalrelationship and so forth. The children emotional comprehension experiments ismore practical more reliable, and it has been achieved a lot progress. From theperspective of the theory of mind, emotional comprehension include facial basedtask, situational–based recognition task, desired–based task, belief-based task,mixed-based emotional task.Looking through the inferior reference, experts from aboard in the area havebeen achieving a desired goal. It may serve to teenagers and adults field of thedevelopment of emotional comprehension, but in china, the reference that I havecollected the correlation between maternal parenting style and emotionalcomprehension is just part of it. So in this study, we examined the correlationbetween the maternal parenting style and emotional comprehension.Assumption:1. maternal parenting style and5-year-old toddlers’ emotional comprehension are higher correlation.2. maternal parenting style can predicts5–year-old toddlers’emotional comprehension development level.We expect that the study can enhance the theory of toddlers’ social developmentand individual development, we also hope that we can provide a practical andeducational foundation to give parents a hand in teaching toddlers’ emotionalcomprehension capability in reality.33children (5years old) and their mother5years old through Liaoning normaluniversity‘s kindergarten in Dalian city. Mother were completed the maternalparenting style questionnaire in the classroom. We observed toddlers in fiveemotional comprehension task to measure their emotional comprehensiondevelopmental level. The data were computed by SPSS software. In the end, theresearcher used relative analysis and aggression analysis to test their correlation.The results approved hat:1. maternal parenting style and5-year-old toddlers’ emotional comprehensionare higher correlation.Maternal parenting style (emotional warmth/understanding) is significantlypositive correlation5-year-old toddlers’ emotional comprehension. Maternalparenting style (severe/punishment, excessive interference/excessive protection,rejection/denial) is significantly negative correlation5-year-old toddlers’ emotionalcomprehension.2. maternal parenting style can predicts5–year-old toddlers’ emotionalcomprehension development.Maternal parenting style (emotional warmth/comprehension) can positivelypredict5-year-old toddlers’ emotional comprehension. Maternal parenting style(severe/punishment) can negatively predict5-year-old toddlers’ emotionalcomprehension.
