Analysis Of Present Situation Of Ink And Wash Painting In Taiwan

Before this study, there are very few books from mainland with introductions about the development of Taiwanese art, especially books with profound studies on Taiwanese contemporary ink painting. This paper aims to present the post-1949development of Taiwanese ink painting more objectively from the perspective of a mainland student during an exchange program in Taiwan by analyzing the status quo of Taiwanese ink painting and compare it to the current situation of mainland ink painting of the same period. Moreover, the paper is also in an attempt to probe into the cultural phenomenon, national psychology and cultural context of Taiwan, in seeking for the development track of Taiwanese psychology by studying the contemporary ink painting in Taiwan.With3passages included, this paper provides a humble analysis about the development of Taiwanese ink painting through historical analysis, comparative study, visual analysis and case analysis. After study, four research targets is expected to be reached:1. To organize a literature review on the cultural background, historical reasons and particularity of Taiwan.2. To analyze and introduce through graphical methods the types, the style and representative painters of Taiwanese ink painting after1945.3. To sort out the cultural inheritance and innovations brought by both mainland and Taiwan in the development of ink painting through an analysis about the national psychology, historical background and images in Taiwan.4. To analyze the development of ink paintings in Taiwan and mainland, so as to find out new development ideas to enrich the language of contemporary ink painting.
