Since entering the new century, mass culture continues to boom, dominated by movies, TV, screen culture has gradually become an important part of mass culture, in order to meet the requirements of the film and television on the content and subject matter, the novel was adapted for film and television play a lot. And we find the novels which adapted for film and television works most come from the new realistic novels which produced in the last century the nineties and its representative writers later creation has the characteristics of the new realistic novels, also been adapted rapidly, the new realistic novels can be classified into the "common name" in the era of literary genre, why in the era of diversified literary creation of "unknown", because of its representative writers works are frequently been adapted for film and television works, the new realistic novels can be achieved to new "common name", why new realistic novel writers’works will be frequently adapted for film and television play? Relative to the film and television, how does the literature in the future to survive? Starting from these problems, this article attempts to study the novels’survival strategy and possible development in the era of film and television culture by the study of the new realistic novels adaptation phenomenon.The first chapter mainly study from the variable (compared with the nineties of the last century and before the different cultural environment) and constant (compared with the nineties of the last century and the new century literature environment is a little change) of the external cultural context. Influenced by literary’adaptation, the writer’s literary position and identity began to waver and change. The second chapter studies why a lot of new realistic novels are adapted for film and television plays by analysis of the suitable elements in the new realistic novels. Mainly adopt the method of close reading and comparison research, from the theme of the novel creation, the language of novel creation, the structure of the novel creation and the style of novel creation these four aspects to explore the film and television narration elements of the new realistic novels and tries to reveal the modern accept and aesthetic value of this film and television narrative.The third chapter mainly discusses how could the marriage of fiction and film impact on novels? And trying to find in the present era of cultural context, the novels under the influence of this new film and television arts, whether can draw lessons from the film and television narrative, seeking a new aesthetic expression,broaden its living space.New realistic novel means the end of80s literature and literature at the beginning of90s, its literary form and literary creation technique will affect the later literary creation. the research for phenomena of film and television adaptation of new realistic novels will open a new era of literature study for the relationship between literature and film and television.
