Chinese Proficiency Test which is also called HSK is the national standard examination which is designed to exam foreigners whose native language is not the first language and the Chinese learners who are minority. As the development of Chinese economy, the process of the internationalization of Chinese language is becoming faster and faster. In the November of2009, China National Office for teaching Chinese as a foreign language perused. The new Chinese Proficiency Test. The HSK band six is the summit in the examination, so it is more difficult than others and the reading is the major part. The paper analyses the reading comprehension in the new HSK. Firstly, the paper will analyze the question types of the reading in detail. Then comparing the questions of the new Chinese Proficiency Test with the previous one, I’ll find out the change about the question types, requirement and the percentage in the part of reading. Finally, the paper will interstage the degree of difficulty by interviewing the foreign students who attend the examination of the new HSK band six and then analyzed the learning errors according to the result in order to offer some testing skills to face the exam. This paper hopes that it can help people who will want to attend the exam and teachers who are coaching in the reading comprehension.
