Mo yan’s novel not only are literary, but also the crystallization of the local culturethoughts under the condition of Chinese traditional natural economy. Mo yan’shometown is a village which is in the northeast of Shandong Gaomi. It belongs to theculture area of Qilu. It is an important birthday of Confucianism and Taoism. Most ofthe character, emotion and event in Mo yan’s novel are based on the growingexperience and life experience of Mo yan. It has very important significance to excavateand expound the living condition and culture spirit of Chinese under the status oftraditional agriculture civilization. This paper analyses the humanity of Mo yan’s novelfrom the perspective of culture philosophy. It reveals the characters take survival as thebottom line of humanity and pay more attention to boy and reproduction in Mo yan’snovel. When people’s survival and material needs are met, they begin to against theconstraint of traditional concept and pursuit the freedom and liberation of humanity. Atthe same time, they present different traits in different stage, period and environment.The humanity of Mo yan’s novel is the typical representative of Chinese nationality.The character of this humanity not only has the general value, but also the certain ethnicprey. We can grasp people’s living condition, life style and value deeply in the culturepattern of traditional agricultural economy by our analysis. Then we can reflect andcontrast the way of modern people’s life. At last, it is easy to form a new kind ofChinese culture which is suit for the need of living and has its own characteristics.Further it enhance the national cultural consciousness and cultural self-confidence.
