Luo Rufang is one of the most prominent thinkers in Tai Zhou School. The core subject of his doctrine is the philosophy of humanity. In essence,"humanity" is love.In his opinion,"the pure heart of a newborn baby" which is supremely good means the qualities and love that people were born with. Therefore,"the pure heart of a newborn baby" is the origin of "humanity".He also regards the original essence meaning of "humanity",the general revival of life,is "Sang Sang".The way to seeking "humanity",which attains to "One Unity of All Things" in our lives, like vigilance and fear, current reversion, and the drop of everything,is to get achievement without any work.Tai Zhou School originates from Confucian School.Luo Rufang not only sings high praise for Confucius and Mencius, but also identifies the aim of it.His "humanity" appears based on Confucius and Mencius' philosophy of humanity and Wang Yang Ming's conscience theory. The historical status of his "humanity" depends on a series of his individual theories, such as "the pure heart of a newborn baby","filial Piety, fraternal duty, and affection","Sang Sang","boy holding tea is principle","the drop of everything" and so on.It affirms the requirement of person toward the selfish desire and the value of material gain. That, crossing the barrier of traditional Confucianism, closely relates to the rise of the public literature in the late Ming dynasty and the vigorous growth of a new spirit in personal liberty.Luo Rufang plays an important role in the transmission of Yang Ming doctrine and Tai Zhou School. With his doctrine,he wins himself a place in the intellectual history of Ming dynasty. However,it still belongs to the idea of the traditional Confucianism. The deep research on his philosophy of humanity not only can comprehend the development and changes of Confucianism in the Ming dynasty, but also contribute to understanding its development direction after Luo Rufang.
