The fact that Mo Yan got Nobel prize for Literature was one of the mostimportant cultural events in2012,and also an important mark of the history ofchinese literature. In fact, Mo was already one of the important writers of thenew-period literature before getting the prize. His creation of short story started in1981. He has got a certain position in chinese mordern literatry world as a prolificwriter who has a unique style.This paper forcus on the improvement that Mo hansi made on his short story.The subjects are all of Mo Yan’s short story writen since1981to recent years. Byreading and contrasting, three part of the course of Mo Yan’s producing has beenfound.The first part is from1981to1985. During this time, Mo Yan mostly wrotemilitary stories and country stories. Those stories showed sincere feelings and noblecharacters. The language in those story was simple and beautiful.The second part is from1985to1998. During that time, Mo Yan mostly wrotecountry stories based on his own memories. Those stories showed the rural poverty.And some myths and legends as well. The language in those story was vulgar andshowy. The unique style of writing and narrative strategy were about to beestablished.The third part is from1998to recent years. During this time, the style of MoYan’s short stories are mostly fantasy. He has been trying to writing some satiricalstories to reveal the problem of human world. He uses a lot of imageries to show thefeelings of the characters in his story.During decades of writing, Mo has established his own style. He uses truefeelings, complicated structures and fantacy stories to write. He tells the most simplefolk tales. And brings the reader unbelievable feelings. He has established a uniquestyle in chinese literature.
