Rachmaninoff is a representative figure of the end of late romantic music, life asa pianist, composer and conductor.He lived in the upheaval at the turn of the century,the legendary life experience, his music is his witness the changes of the times anduninterest of life, so his works often have a distinct personality and profoundconnotation.Throughout his music career, piano works throughout and occupy acentral position, his piano works shown in melody, rhythm, harmony, melody,"bell"the plot, the theme of "death" and other music style in general, as well as romantic,tragic, national music style of the master is success understanding and interpretationof the key and precondition of his piano works, so his piano works for thecomprehensive study is very necessary.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part is the analysis ofRachmaninoff’s piano works of cultural background, by the external environment andthe individual factors of two parts, mainly restore the real environment and situationof the composer, and its unique romantic temperament and tragic, premise conditionwhich is fully understood the piano works;The second part is on the Rachmaninoffpiano works as the research object, from the different stages of their career, the mainworks of piano music genre, specific expression characteristic and distinctive pianomusic style from four angles as a starting point, and strive to make the interpretationof the commonness and individuality of his piano works itself out in technique andstyle level;The third part is on the basis of the two parts, with the characteristics ofthe performance of Rachmaninoff himself as the reference, the author superficialexperience, trying to analyse some problems need to pay attention to Rachmaninoff’spiano works in concert.
