A Study Of Lu Zhenyu 's "Brief History Of Chinese History"

Lv Zhen yu is a famous historian. He is also the founder of the Marxism Historiography and called one of the "Chinese Marxism Historiography OF Five People". Lv Zhen yu devotes to the study of history and national revolution in all his life. He also made great contributions to the establishment of Chinese Marxist historiography. He has achieved breakthrough research on the Economic History, National History, Social History, Thought History and Chinese General History and so on. Lv Zhen yu is a prolific writer. Among these writings, the " Condensed Chinese General History" is the earliest writings of Chinese General History. It also has a very large impact on historiography in modern China. Lv Zhen Yu has made outstanding contributions to historical research in Chinese Marxist historiography. In recent years, the research on Lv Zhen yu is gradually increasing. There are many scholars to study on the "Condensed Chinese General History". In this paper, I will combine the achievements of existing studies and do more comprehensive discussion about" Condensed Chinese General History". This paper takes the " Condensed Chinese General History" as the main object of study and tried to discover his thoughts of Marxist historiography, his historical achievements and characteristics and the research on Chinese history. I also expect to combine the development background on Chinese historiography and clearly understand about the process of development on Chinese Marxist historians.This paper is composed of three parts on introduction, main body and epilog.The first part introduces about Lv Zhen yu’s life experiences and his academic background. Historical research is closed contact with the social background. We learn about Lv Zhen yu’s personal experience and his historical contributions are very necessary. We can learn that he is not only a famous historian and also has made great contributions to the national revolution through the background. The second part introduces the creation background about his writing of "concise history of Chinese". The twentieth century was the period of great changes on Chinese history. We can combined with the historical background and find that Lv Zhen yu complies with the historical development trend to write the new practical book of Chinese General history. It is reflected that Lv Zhen yu is a historian who has the great spirit of innovation. The third part mainly analyses the compilation features of this book. Marxist writings of Chinese General history has more compilation characteristics than traditional history. This paper mainly probe from the literature style, contents, language and other aspects to understand the new paradigm about Marxist writings of Chinese General History in these period. The fourth part mainly describes the main content about this book, such as the economic, political, cultural, ethnic and other aspects to explore that this book reflects the materialist ideology about Marx historical and characteristics. I will try to research the book though these aspects and in order to define Lv Zhen yu’s historical achievements and thoughts.
