Research Onxia ZengYou’s Historical Thoughts And The Book Chinese Ancient History

Chinese Ancient History is a history textbook written by Xia Zengyou from1902to1906, it was valued by history academic circles, especially who researches on the areas such as Chinese modern history,New Historiography in the Early20thCentury and modern history education,etc. But few people do the research based on the texts of the book. This thesis basing on the texts of Chinese Ancient History, attempts to find out the value of the book, how could it be spreed over one hundred years, and it still be valued. From this thesis, we could observe how the predecessor using western theories to interpret Chinese history, how did they observe China by comparison of Western countries, how did they struggled to survive in the circumstance when east meet west.After the book be wrote by over one hundred years, China meet the Western world in another way, just like one hundred years ago, history takes the task of creation and succession. Researching on Xia Zengyou’s historical thoughts and Chinese Ancient History could provide experiences and references to us.
