As an important part of rhetorical metaphor, there is a considerable proportion in the English to Chinese two languages, which are used widely in English and Chinese.Metaphor occupy a large proportion in the foreign language teaching of rhetoric, the author investigated Li Xiaoqi’s "Boya Chinese"(2009)a series of intensive reading materials, found the distribution of metaphor, rhetoric in the textbooks, which can be seen, metaphor exists in teaching materials; at the same time, in recent years the HSK exam, the test of HSK also increased the metaphor examination efforts, metaphor and analogy about the origin of idioms, are involved in the test. Therefore, metaphor has become the important content of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.But as the culture, customs, ways of thinking in English and Chinese are different, the differences of the these two languages of metaphor demonstrate different characteristics in many respects. So in the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, though both teachers and students spend a lot of time and energy, the teaching effect is not ideal.In the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, helping foreign learners understand, master and skilled use metaphor, not only can improve the students’Chinese level, but also can improve their Chinese learning self-confidence and sense of achievement, meanwhile, pass the rich cultural implication to them through the metaphor of rhetoric teaching, so that the students can master metaphor and learn Chinese culture indirectly, enhance mutual understanding and love of Chinese culture. Therefore, in the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, metaphor teaching, not only can enhance the interest of classroom teaching and improve the teaching efficiency, but also stimulate students’enthusiasm and passion of learning Chinese.This paper makes a contrastive analysis of English and Chinese Metaphors from the cognitive and cultural perspective, combined with the HSK examinations in metaphor, the author collects relevant parable finishing and self reflection corpus, through comparative analysis of metaphor, similarities and differences of the building process of the metaphor can be found. In this process, through the comparison of the two languages of English and Chinese, similarities and differences of metaphor metaphor structure, sentence semantics and metaphor selection and other aspects of analysis, the essential reason of similarities and differences, which will help us understand the metaphor features better. on the basis of the analysis, put forward the teaching strategy of Chinese figures of speech by several groups of animal related typical teaching cases.Because the language reflect the thought, which is a part of culture, in a certain extent, this paper will reveal the differences and similarities between the two cultures in English to Chinese, hope that through the comparison of the animal metaphor in English and Chinese languages, interpret running mechanism of English and Chinese figurative, find the similarities and differences between English and Chinese metaphor, to enhance the learner’s comprehension and grasp of English and Chinese metaphor, contributing to metaphor teaching more organized, more targeted in the future and improving teaching Chinese as a foreign language and foreign language learning.
