Since the Korean War, films on the subject of North Korea and South Korea has become an important part in South Korean films. Since the beginning of 21st century, prosperity of the movies on this subject has boosted the entire film industry of South Korea. This paper tries to study why films on this subject could keep its flag flying for decades from the perspective of cultural reflection. This paper is consist of three parts:the first part is the reflection on the history of Korean War, in which the awareness of "anti-communist", "anti-America" and "anti-war" and its transformation has been discussed. And based on the changes of images on Korean People’s Army and American Army, to analyze the themes of this kind of films after review the history-the resolution of ideological confrontation, advocacy on the nationalism and humanism and accuse on the war. The second part is the reflection on the proposition of unification, in which the conditions and ways of future unification, and establishment of national image of North-South community has been discussed through the analysis of "confrontation", "cooperation" and "salvation" between the North and the South in the films.The third part is the reflectionon the national identity of culture after the war. Through analyzing the anxiety of identification of the existing "mix-blooded" and the "North Korea defectors" in South Korea in the context of postcolonism and nationalism, this part tries to discuss the cultural identification issue of the Korean groups in the course of history.In the wave of globalization, faced with crush of the western mainstream culture whic h represented by Hollywood, Korean films focuses on the history, culture and status of existen ce, the perseverance and innovation of their own culture in the narrative process of separation and union that provides an example for the independence of Asian national films.
