Shehuo originates from the ancient exorcising sorcery and a religious ceremony to pray harvest, and Blood Shehuo is a unique wonderful flower in the folk Shehuo family, mainly distributes in Guanzhong Basin of Shannxi province,which remains a little in the remote village in Baoji, Weinan, Xianyang.Though there are some similarities with the performance of traditional Shehuo pantomime,the content is always something about edge tools like axe, fodder chopper, scissor, sickle and awl, piercing into human body, which feels violent, brutal, spooky, mysterious and vivid. The performance takes place around the Lantern Festival and the "dragon on the rise" Festival.Through the field study in the six villages with Blood Shehuo in Guanzhong Basin, it is found that Blood Shehuo has various performances in different villages through comparison, mainly in the form of static public display. Take Blood Shehuo of Yan Jiaan in Longxian village for example, during the field investigation, records of the former, middle and latter stages. This paper has embryology comparison and research on Blood Shehuo ceremony of Yan Jiaan and illustrates it with the four theories, that is "sympathetic magic" in The Golden Bough of James George Frazer; "Liminality" of The ritual process, structure and antistructure of Victor Turner and "symbolic exchange and death" of Jean Baudrillard, and Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalysis "death instinct" theory. From which we can know that:the first, as a harvesting ceremony in primitive society, Blood Shehuo bases in the symbol method of sympathetic magic, with the nature of profaneness and blood sacrifice carnival; the second, during the liminality stage, the actor gains promotion by reducing its status; the third, in the primary symbolic order, the symbolization of death in Blood Shehuo ceremony and the penance of birth (for effort) by imitating syncope ("with prop") make life and death disappear or exchange, which offers life a kind of reversibility and become real in the social relations. The fourth, everyone has the death instinct, it is through the Blood Shehuo simulation "suicide" image, encourage people to return to a state of calm life before.From above, it is obvious that Blood Shehuo has six main functions.This paper also explores the cultural influence and historical process of Blood Shehuo,which evolves from religion sacrificial ceremony to secular performance.By the analysis,Blood Shehuo is influenced by the Mulian Culture in the transition of the history,makes the hell trial to this world to help educate common people. And This article also analyzes the artistic and cultural value of Blood Shehuo and lists the examples that is similar with the principles of Anthropology in modern art.
