| In this thesis, the author mainly wants to talk about the structure of Liang Suming’s Concept of Mind and the process of the development of his theory as well as the evaluation of his theory. His theory of concept of mind is the development of traditional Confucian concept of mind and at the same time it has some modern element. His theory has his personal characteristic as well as era significance. In his early years, Liang Suming made the between the eastern and western culture and philosophy and realized that the Concept of Mind is the foundation of all philosophy study, as well as to state his theory of view of life and value.Liang Suming’s Concept of Mind comprises three parts: human nature, human heart and life. Human nature makes human unique from other animals and it is the unique wisdom of human. This wisdom not only shows not only when human get the basic food, shelter, clothes and so on for survival, but also when human use this wisdom to confirm human nature inside human. Human heart is the key character for human to bring the subjective mind and independent thinking.This character can control things, and this control can be divided into two aspects, for one side, it can control the inside world of human, for another, it can control the outside world as well.But they are all the same. From this, human heart has two functions, externally,it is to feel and influence the outside world so that human can better know the outside world,another is to penetrate all basic psychological activities so that human can know better of their own nature. Human can be human only because of human heart. With human heart, human can truly has wisdom to govern the inner activities and outside world activities. Human life is the final destination of human nature and human heart.Human heart and human are indivisible, while talking about human, human heart must be involved; while talking about human heart, it comes from human.Discovering human heart, exploring human heart and understanding human heart is to know better about human life and solve the problems in human life. With the experience and knowledge from human heart, human can better guide their human life.As human heart is the final destination of human life,Liang Suming’s Concept of Mind comes from human life practice and tires to solve the human life problems.From this, we can also see that the significance of the study of the Concept of Mind.Liang Suming analyzes the Concept of Mind with the human evolution as model and points out that human mental evolution is from basic instinct to intelligence, fromintelligence to reason, basic instinct comes from nature and it has no difference with other living beings. Intelligence is the senior stage of basic instinct. After all, the basic instinct is to solve two problems: individual survival and race reproduction. Basic instinct develops into senior stage with brain, for the senior life, they can develop the exploring instinct and entertaining instinct except the prime instinct for survival. As a senior living being, human not only value the material comfort, but also as a demand of human heart, they evolved intelligence and began to pursue the spiritual life.Reason is the senior stage of intelligence, and initially, it is also developed from human heart. To human being, basic instinct, intelligence and reason is the different human heart reaction to problems of different levels, also they are the different stages of human heart evolution. Liang Suming’s Concept of Mind is founded on basic instinct, intelligence and reason, and his aim is to search the significance of “life†and“morality†to human life. He advocates the big life theory and ethics-centered philosophical theory. Combined both theories, Liang Suming’s Concept of Mind naturally take life and moral as the core to expound.
