Digest The Logic Of Capital

“The post-modernity or the logic of culture in the late capitalism” is a famous work of Jameson, in it there is profound and vital analysis of the logic of post-modern culture. Its profundity reflects that it includes Jameson’s theory of periodization and the idea of the Utopia, its importance results from its double meaning which are theoretical and realistic. This article is important clue of our study of Jameson’s theory, and it is also crucial resource for us to understand Marxism and Western Marxism, and it provides rewarding enlightenment for Chinese social construction.By the analysis of the resources of the cultural theory in late capitalism, we try to point out Jameson’s constructing the theory of periodization on the basis of Marxian critical capitalism and Mandel’s thinking of the late capitalism, this periodization includes three parts, which are realism, modernism and postmodernism. And then we pay attention to the inherent logic of capitalism. On this basis, we analyze Jameson’s utopia to clarify his aim, which is to dispel the logic of capitalism by the way of criticize the cultural logic of late capitalism, and construct the society in the future.This kind of elimination is helpful for us to know the essence of capital, and it can help us realize the elimination of capital logic in the contemporary society, thereby making harmonious society come true. But this idea has its weaknesses of the age, anyhow we should understand and develop it critically.
