The creation of mixed media painting demands the modern eclectic and open creation concept, which should avoid depending too much on the piling up of materials and the aesthetic expression of materials without much cultural thinking. In the context of traditional culture, we should pay more attention to visual images of traditional forms, such as portrait stones, folk paper cutting, and shadow puppet, and try to understand the relevant aesthetic judgment. Through analysis, we can better realize these old but rich art treasures, from which we draw some meaningful enlightenment:stressing the overall tension of modeling of shape representation, including displaying dynamics with outlines and emphasizing the positive and negative spaces of modeling; stressing the performance of mixed media in shape processing, including the abstract freehand-stressed formal language and the eternal aesthetic feeling; besides, stressing the use of subjective colors and holding the color collocation so as to reach the final harmony of modeling, colors and emotions, which will improve the arts creation to provide new aesthetic enjoyment of visual experience and painting.
