The formation of freehand oil painting is a passionate collision caused by the fusion of Western oil paintings after being introduced into China with the traditional oriental aesthetic thought,thus a re-creation of the painting language is formed.Freehand oil paint is the transformation of the objective world into the inner emotions of the painter.It is an advanced culture with Chinese uniqueness and advancing with the times.It displays the unique thinking mode of �the nature and man unites as one�and unifies the painting technique and thought.After the twentieth century,under the influence of Chinese society,the obedience to realism culture of Western painting made the road of freehand oil painting tough,but the exploration of freehand oil painting by many artists never stopped.After the 1980 s and 1990 s,freehand oil paintings presented a wide variety of appearance and types under the efforts of the painters.However,there was still much room for exploring the development of the immature freehand oil paintings.The process of exploration was not an easy task,which called for a large number of people spending enormous time to study and to combine the wisdom of the predecessors,so as to motivate Chinese freehand oil painting to reach a new height.In recent years,the art exhibition on the theme of freehand oil painting has increased year by year,so that the freehand oil paintings are increasingly recognized by the masses.As the successor and developer of freehand oil painting,the author shoulders the responsibility of bringing new light to the development of freehand oil painting.Therefore,the subject about how to apply the beauty of freehand brushwork to the creation of contemporary Chinese oil painting art and how to apply Chinese freehand spirit to oil painting language becomes imminent.The main contents of this thesis are as follows: the first part is to study the history and current situation of the development of Chinese oil painting.It is known through its development line that the oil paintings have been trying to integrate with local culture since the introduction by European missionaries into China.Then the development of Chinese oil paintings is divided into the realistic oil paintings,which is the mainstream culture represented by Xu Beihong,and the freehand oil paintings beginning with Lin Fengmian's thought of �Chinese and Western Harmony�,and up to the blooming of contemporary oil paintings,the freehand oil paintings are at the stage of development;In the second part,after clarifying the development line of freehand oil painting,this thesis summarizes the language expression forms of freehand oilpainting.Through the combination of artistic styles showed in the painting practice of several oil painting artists at different stages,the language expressions and spiritual connotations from six aspects of line,color,composition,texture,space and spirit are illustrated,reflecting the diversity and future of freehand oil painting development.The third part of this thesis,combined with the author's own creation practice,analyzes how to display �the beauty of freehand brushwork� and the factors that influence the individual's unique painting style.Finally,this thesis makes a summary and outlook towards the blooming future of Chinese freehand oil painting in the world of art.The thesis,through the analysis of the development status of freehand oil painting,and under the premise of meeting the needs of painting language,artistic conception,spiritual integration,explores the depth and height of the development space of freehand oil painting from the perspective of the author's personal painting style,aiming to contribute to the process of freehand oil painting from developing to maturity.
