Bulgakov, 1891—1940, Russian novelist, dramatist, who created a great amount of short stories, novels and plays in 20 th century. His first novel, "The White Guard" got rid of the past Soviet writers for white guard formulaic outline, portrayed the characters as ordinary people, described the fate of white guard intellectuals in the civil war from different perspectives. He panoramically described the pictures of the suffering of innocent people caused by the war through their emotional descriptions and the combination of reality and fantasy.The paper will start with ideological content, artistic images and narrative style to analyze and investigate the novel from these three aspects. Interpretation the art world of "The White Guard" could explore Bulgakov’s attitude and ideological and ethical standards towards historical events, thus indicating the inspiration significance that this novel brings to the real-life.
