On Life Consciousness, Female Consciousness And Redemption Consciousness In Bi Shumin 's Works

With a deep concern of life and feelings of saving people’s soul, Bi shumin regards "curing the sickness and saving the patient" as her own duty. She not only focus on saving people’s lives, but also devotes to the salvation of the soul. In her works, whether for the cute female soldier on Kunlun mountains, or the ordinary people in society; whether for noble business woman, female dean or those people who live in the bottom of the society such as hourly employee, drug addicts, she pays them close care and concern with the awe of life. She has a strong desire to save those people who were toured both physically and mentally by disease, drug addiction, and mental illness, just like a doctor’s mission to save people’s lives. She puts all her concerns and love into her works, consciously taking purifying the soul with literature as her mission.In this paper I explore Bi Shumin’s creative writings from three aspects, namely, care for life, care for women, and save for soul, and then summarize her work with three key points, namely, strong life consciousness, female consciousness, and salvation consciousness.In the first part of this paper I focus on appealing of life and examination of death. She describes the female soldier on snow-covered highland living optimistically and positively, who shows us the beauty of life. The image that people were drove by their greed and evil also was incisively and vividly described, in which the readers will think about the inherent vice of human nature and appreciate life. Through approval of noble ethical life and reflection on the survival pattern, she expresses that life will go on and also hope will continue. Furthermore, she reasonably thinks over death and artistically explores the destination of human life, using natural death, dedicatory death, detachment death to teach us with modern concept of death.In the second part Ⅰ focus on the concern and care for women. Bi Shumin pays a special attention to the survival and fate of women. In her works female characters occupied a dominant roles. The author fully demonstrates their beauty, goodness and braveness and trusts those characters as ideal personalities. In her glory of the truth, goodness and beauty of women, the author deeply explores and examines the life, fate and love world of females,In the third part Ⅰ mainly write about the salvation of the society and human soul. Strong life consciousness becomes the motivation of the author, and this motivation runs through most of her literature. With this desire to save people’s soul, the author feels a deep sympathy and sorrow for life, which actually improves her level. We can seize and experience the core ideas of her life culture by her intention of inheriting the traditional salvation culture to save people’s life and soul.Bi Shumin is more sensitive than any other writers on understanding life, caring for women, and saving the soul.She deals life and death, sorrow and earnest hope with a calm and cool mind, obviously these skills are connected mostly with her rich living experience and her deep insights on life.
