Puccini is an Italian opera composer. He wrote12operas in his wholelife."La fanciulla del west" was enlightened by The Verismo Opera.Puccini’s operas have simple structure, which is not tedious but appealing.He emphasized the combination of music and drama and the rhythm ofRecitativo. What’s more, he focused on the band’s depiction of backgroundand mental activity at the same time. He tried to combine voice and musicperfectly and fill them with exquisite effects and colors. His effortssuccessfully changed the situation of different attention on voice andinstruments in opear and had an important role in stimulating ItalianOpera in the20th Century.The paper is in the position of studying the tenor singing performance.Basing on Johnson, the male host characters in "La fanciulla del west",the paper studies in the style and figure of extract of "Make Her Believe".The paper combines the characteristics in the opera to analyze thestructure, style and piano accompany. The paper focus on the structure,language, tempo, genre and style of Johnson’s aria in "Make Her Believe"to analyze his singing features. The paper uses the Wei Song andPavarotti’s performances to study Chinese and foreign singers singingdifferences in order to absorb their success and improve our singingtechnics.
