Zheng Xuan who is called "the Emperor of Classics ",has collected and classifiedmany Confucian classics. He created Zheng Xue which became Chinese Confucianorthodoxy after Han dynasty. It had a profound impact on the history of Chineseclassics. Since2000years ago, Zheng Xue have already play an important role in thestudy of Confucian classics in China.The study of Zheng Xue in Qing dynastyachieved unprecedented success, especially in qianjia period, the golden age of theresearch about Zheng Xue.The study of Zheng Xue also existed in late Qing, yetfacing serious challenges of modern social transition. Especially since late Qingdynasty, Zheng Xue has faced unprecedented social changes, drastic transformation,and ideological slam. It had to make a change. The Chinese Confucian classics endedwith the end of "imperial examination system". Zheng Xue which rooted in theConfucian classics for thousands of years in China also came to decay. But there arestill some scholars strived to make Zheng Xue finally achieved another kind of"rebirth". Zheng Xue also eventually exists in the form of "historical classics".The paper is divided into six parts. The introduction part mainly illustrates thesources and the significance of the topic, as well as the summary of former academicresearch at home and abroad. The main body of the thesis contains five parts.Chapter1mainly introduces the Zheng Xuan and his knowledge。It includesZheng Xuan’s biography、writings、ideology and the contents and characteristics ofZheng Xue.Chapter2mainly introduces the development and research history of the ZhengXue before the Qing dynasty. This chapter has made a detail introduction on ZhengXue from WeiJin dynasty to Ming dynasty. Meanwhile, it was also introduces thescholars which have outstanding contributions in Zheng Xue studies.Chapter3mainly introduces the Zheng Xue’s study in the early Qing Dynasty. Ithas showed more details in this chapter. First of all, Zheng Xue took on newprominence in the Qing academic circles, more and more scholars choose the PuXueas their object of research major. Most of the scholars in early Qing dynasty wereinterested in collected articles and made research on Zheng Xuan.Chapter4mainly introduces the Zheng Xue’s study in the middle of the QingDynasty. In order to illustrate the Studies in Zheng Xue more clearly, the main part ofthe Chapter was from "School-Wu"、"School-Wu"、"School-Yang" and"School-Chang" four aspects to analysis. It was also introduces the scholars whichhave outstanding contributions in Zheng Xuan’s ritual studies. The study of ZhengXue in Qing dynasty achieved unprecedented success, especially in qianjia period, thegolden age of the research about the knowledge of Zheng Xuan. The QianJia school’sZheng Xue studies were also the core of this chapter.Chapter5mainly introduces the Zheng Xue’s studies in the late Qing Dynasty.In the early part of the late Qing dynasty, there were still many Confucianism tookZheng Xuan very seriously. They have also made great achievements in Zheng Xue’s studies. The theory of "the knowledge of Zheng Xuan is mainly about the study ofritual" has obtained a big development in this period. Zheng Xue’s ritual studies inlate Qing Dynasty were also the core of the chapter. China was in danger and veryweak, and stability and prosperity was no longer existed; scholars no longer focusedon "exegesis" and "textual criticism", and began to look for ways to save the country.Scholars hesitated between the collision between "Western Learning" and "ChineseLearning". The opening of the New Deal in the late Qing dynasty, the abolition of theimperial civil service examination system ends the history of "Zheng Xue’s studies.On the other hands, it is also means that the studies on the history of Zheng Xue’s start.The studies of Zheng Xue entered a new phase in its development. The influence ofZheng Xue’s study in Qing Dynasty to the republic of China was also described at theend of the chapter.After the main chapters is the appendix,about the literature statistics of ZhengXue during more than two hundred years in Qing dynasty, including the collections ofZheng Xuan writings, specialized studies on Zheng Xue and so on.In general, since the Qing dynasty, Zheng Xue has experienced unprecedentedchallenges and impact. But scholars who were believed in Zheng Xue tradition inmodern scholars from generation to the next. As a result, the modern "Zheng Xueresearch" in the history of Confucian classics has a unique value and importantposition. Now, Zheng Xue research plays an irreplaceable role to the spread ofConfucianism, and also made a great contribution for our ancient cultural heritage andpreservation.
