Acoustic area problem has always been a difficulty in singing and vocal musicteaching. With the development of bel canto in the long-term exploration in practice, different schools and theories has been produced while dealing with the problem ofacoustic area unification. Admittedly,"head voice" plays a vital role in solving theunification of acoustic area in my process of vocal music study. As the trend of belcanto nationalization becomes more and more obvious, from singing and musicaesthetic perspective, the role of head voice played is also more and more prominent. So, what’s the relationship between "head voice" and acoustic area? Where is vocalregister theory come from? What technology theory and the theory will its developmentbring to bel canto? Knowing these, what technology and the method should be guidedand trained in order to achieve the aim of vocal register unity? All these are problemsneeded to study. With the above problems, through along the track of the formation anddevelopment of bel canto, this paper isolates the inner link between "head voice" andthe "acoustic area" in order to find the theoretical source of "head voice" for basis andmethods. At the same time, it demonstrates the vital role of head voice in singing fromthe angle of physics and biology and puts forward the theoretical source and thesolutions of "head voice", thus helping us understand "head voice" morecomprehensively and clearly and provide guidance for the vocal music teaching andpractice reference. This paper expounds from four parts: the foreword is made up of selected topicsignificance and related research review in the first part. The topic selection is dividedinto academic significance and practical significance. This article suggests the reason ofchoosing this topic from the theoretical and practical significance. The related studieswere reviewed from two aspects: the one, the current situation of research is analyzedby listing related journals, dissertations, monographs, etc. The other, the researchmethods are listed. The formation and development are stated from the perspective ofmusic form in the second part. The acoustic area unification problems are discussed andthe formation and development of acoustic area theory are teased in the third part. Atthe same time, the relation between acoustic area theory and weight function theory isexplained from the perspective of physiology. The fourth part emphasizes the importantrole of head voice in vocal music singing, combining the teaching idea and resultssummary of mentor Chang qinju.
