A "head voice", derived from the theory of voice register of Bel Canto, is closely associated with the emergence and the development of the theory of voice register. The "head voice" technique is deeply rooted in the theories about vocal register and its unity.It has long been regarded that the "head voice" and the unity of vocal register, among many representing schools and theories developed in different periods of Bel Canto, is always practiced and studied by all kinds of schools of vocal music. The "head voice" plays an increasingly important role in the vocal pedagogy and vocal performance and there was once a school of "head voice" in the history of the modern vocal music. The discussions about "head voice" could be found in all kinds of theories of the school of Bel Canto. Then, in those dissertations, what role does the theory of voice register play in "head voice"? How do the different schools and theories of vocal music like the "head voice"? How to practice and get it? etc. All those need to be studied.In order to make "head voice" clear and understandable and offer references for the vocal Pedagogy and practice, the paper tries to obtain the theoretical sources and the basis of '"head voice" and suggest the five elements of acquiring the Bel Canto full of "head voice" and the methodology of training it from the theories of voice register of Bel Canto and the representing schools and theories of different periods along the developing traits of "head voice".The paper altogether includes four chapters (sixteen sections) and the conclusion. The first chapter focuses on discussing the development of "head voice" and Bel Canto and three ideas about "head voice" from different historical periods. Chapter two focuses on the study and definition of "head voice" from the aspects of the empirical sciences such as physiology, physics, etc. in vocc faringea and the theory of degree mechanism. Chapter three concludes and suggests the five elements of acquiring "Bel Canto" full of "head voice". The fourth chapter will discuss several ways of training "head voice". In the conclusion, there is a summary of "head voice".
