Artistic Creation And Charm Of Regional Music Style

With its continuous expansion of playing techniques, Erhu is helping us to have a better understanding of the rich, colorful imagination of arts. It can play not only Chi nese works of different styles and tunes, but also foreign works of classical music. Be cause of its rich skills in shaping various characters in performances, Erhu’s position today is extremely important in the national music.This paper focuses on the functions of Erhu in playing regional works, new works and works of abroad. So the first part is mainly about the characteristics of regional works, while the second discusses the advantages of Erhu in playing those works. The third part comes to performances of regional music works played by Erhu, which, by analy zing hundreds of such works, means to say that the charming features of Erhu can’t bl ossom without national music, or vise versa. Based on this, the author believes that, if one wants to learn Erhu better, to inherit and develop it, he must, first of all, learn to u nderstand the national and regional music styles, learn to play folk music well, and the n to elaborate and develop its artistic charm.
