Erhu Regional Style And Techniques Of Performance Analysis

Our nation's territory is extensive. With the differences in geographical environment, the speeches and intonations, customs and aesthetic awareness as well, the unique musical styles in different areas are developed. Generally speaking, southern area's style is marked by refined and emotional traits , the northern one, wild and wooly , bold and unconstrained traits. The Erhu is one of the most representative Chinese traditional instruments. Its techniques employed in playing the works with regional style have much to do with the styles and techniques in music of different areas. There are a number of pieces with regional style in the existing Erhu musical works. The stylized playing techniques in Erhu is not only the former Erhu players'crystallizations formed in their long-term art practice, but also the essential part of Erhu performing art. The paper starts with both the thoughts to theories and works analysis, combining with performing practice to discuss and analyse the traits of areas'style contained in Erhu music. Through researching, the writer tries hard to make all-sided, systemic and profound analysis and explorations in terms of the Erhu music's styles of area and technique representation.
