A Cognitive Study Of The Concept Of Happiness In Modern Uygur Language

Writing this dissertation has for two main reasons proven formidable task. The first reason is how do Uyghur people understand and express the happiness concepts. Another reason is in order to answer how the semantic structure and usage of happiness metaphors in Uyghur are. Since last few decades, Cognitive linguistics’methods have been used for a host of linguistic matters. Applying the cognitive lexicological semantics, collocations and metaphor analysis are a new and interesting work for the emotional expressions in Modern Uyghur. In this work, there are some definitions for happiness in psychologically and linguistically and given some language structures of happiness. There are amount of happiness signs in Modern Uyghur and it is hard to analyze all of them in a MA dissertation. Therefore, based on Uyghur Language Usage Dictionary compiled by Xinjiang Language Work Committee, Uyghur Idioms and Phrases Usage Dictionary compiled by Reweydulla Hemdullahe and the famous historical novel (two volumes) named Oyghanghan Zemin (The Homeland Awaken) written by Abdurehim Otkur,582 happiness phrases and idioms have been determined and pointed out the usage of it. I am try to analyze that what is the occasions and reasons of that happiness sings accurse, how are the results of that emotions caused, and the structures and process of emotion metaphors. Although I have unfortunately been able to take these phrases into account only to a limited extent, many will feel that I have approach the lexical semantics, collocations and metaphors analyzes in this article.On naming emotions concepts, Uyghur people understand and express like other people in the world.
