This research is based on Cultural Proximity Theory to explore the box office performance of the nominated best feature films of Golden Horse Film Festival in2003~2012.This research examines the factors that influence the box office performance between China’s mainland and the Taiwan region, including “movie genre”, “domestic market size” and “culture value”. The results indicates that the co-production film produced by China’s mainland and the Taiwan region will perform better than others. Besides, the“affirmatively-open” is the acceptable cultural value in common by both side of audience. However, value of “optimistic” is only accepted by audience of Taiwan region. In addition, “family harmony” and “self-insurance” are positively to box office performance of China, while “affair of dealing with friends” is in negative relation.
