"Life is but a dream" is the maximum and the most refined term used by Chinese to generalize life.On the surface, "Dream of Red Mansions" is the complete interpretation of life. However, we cannot get the sense of tranquility and equanimity that is advocated by traditional Taoist. On the contrary, we can read out Jia Baoyu" s hovering between his nostalgia and riddance to the world of mortals.we can faintly feel that the deeper he loved, the more painful he felt to determined to forsake the world. Huayue Chiren(a author of the sequel of Dream of Red Mansions) ever called Baoyu’s pravrajana as "escaping with love".Compared with the complete awakening of monks, his escaping with outstanding bonds of world is undoubtedly more tragic. In other words, Jia Baoyu entered into religion helplessly in Dream of Red Mansions. However, the people holding love, including the author and the readers, are still immersed in the pain of nostalgia and relief, which stops them from getting final riddance.
