A Study On The Application Of Design Thought In "Garden"

Yuanye is the book regarded as having guidance significance of eastern garden art. From ancient to modern times, a group of gardening artists and designers were influenced by its design idea "although constructed by people, it seems as had been formed naturally" and its design technique "its delicacy lies in conforming with the raw materials and being fine in the form of moderate and appropriate size". As for book design in modern times, it pays more attention to the cross relationship with other subjects and discusses with more experiments the relationship between books and buildings, books and clothing, and books and new media. This paper will focus on the gardening art of Jiangnan garden and study the relationship between book design and landscape design under the guidance of the design thought and design technique in the classical gardening work. Moreover, the design idea in Yuanye is applied to the study of book design. Thus, we can experience the gardening beauty and the interest of elegant twists and turns in Yuanye. Besides, it is shown by combining with the actual case.This paper has three chapters. The first chapter analyzes the design ideas and technique of Yuanye according to the original work. The second chapter and third chapters describe the design ideas and technique of Yuanye and its influence on book design combining with the cases of book design. The fourth chapter explains the application of the design ideas and technique in Yuanye combining with graduation design work Applying Gardening Ideas in Book Design.
