On The Art Of Fu Baoshi 's Sketch

Sketching can be generally interpreted as a way of painting through direct depicting the concrete material object or scenery.Due to the cultural differences between China and the west, this concept has different connotations accordingly.Fu Baoshi’s sketching skill not only endowed with national characteristics.but also possessed some rational achievements inspired from the west.Therefore, he made an unprecedented breakthrough in sketching. This paper aims to enlighten the current sketching trend through studying the reasons and characteristics of Fu’s sketching.The paper consists of four chapters. Chapter one is mainly about the exploration of the influences on Fu’s sketching skills by analyzing his studying of seal engraving and the Fine Art Theory.Chapter two focuses on the characteristics of Fu’s sketching skills.Chapter three is the explanations of Fu’s reference and inspiration from the western techniques.Chapter four is a conclusion of Fu’s reference and inspiration from enlightenment to the current sketching techniques.
