Study On Creative Seal Engraving Of Buddha Images

The Buddha image engraving is an integral part of the pictography seal engraving in the art of Chinese seal engraving.It accumulates the connotations of ancient Chinese religion,philosophy and aesthetics,etc.It was not until the late Qing Dynasty that it was introduced into the art of engravings.It has been showing great brilliance under the efforts of many contemporary engraving artists.However,there are few studies on Buddha image engravings both at home and abroad.This article systematically elaborates on the origin and development of Buddha image engravings and the analysis of current situation and techniques of this particular art.Beginning with the development of the Buddha image engravings from the perspective of history,this article first determines the object of the study from the definition of the Buddha image,to explain the relationship between the Buddha statue and the Buddha image engravings.Secondly,from the appearance of the Buddha statue in the Yuan Dynasty to late Qing Dynasty and the old Republic of China before liberation,it explains the exploration and achievements of the engraving families of the artists of this field.Finally,it analyzes the regional styles of modern and contemporary Buddha image seals and the techniques of famous artists,which reflects the author's inheritance of tradition and his exploration of future creative direction.
