This thesis employs the statue named Bronze mirrors with fowls and carriages which found in Zhejiang as the subject of research. Such mirrors are mainly found in the tombs of the early and Middle Eastern Han to the three Kingdoms period. The purpose of the research is to clarify two aspects:formal characteristics and cultural connotation.The main content of this article:Chapter I, discovering naming rules and history of Bronze mirrors with fowls and carriages. Chapter II, exploring sources of raw materials, casting process and form of Bronze mirrors with fowls and carriages. Chapter Ⅲ, classifying these mirrors in system and explore the meaning of mirror theme decorations. Chapter IV, starting at the point of inscriptions on mirrors, researching ideas and social reality reflected on the mirror, exploring the bronze mirrors used in Zhejiang customs, combining tombs to explore the changing process of Bronze mirrors with fowls and carria-ges, exploring the popular causes of Bronze mirrors with fowls and carriages. Chapter Ⅴ, by comparing Zhejiang’s Bronze mirrors with fowls and carriages and other similar mirrors, researching on Zhejiang cultural, political and economic exchanges with other regions.
